Kind of reminds me of the statement that “Expectations will ruin your serenity.”
Expect nothing. Assume nothing. Prepare for anything. Live for the moment.
No, no. That reads like I’m saying your poem is trite. It isn’t. It captures a really simple, yet profound, truth, very neatly and concisely.
